Robert Beyer from California writes..."Here's one of "Bermee" on his very first Edsel outing at Paso Robles, Ca, Oct 98...I rescued this car from the woods of the Sierras . It hadn't been run in years, and was infested with ratpoop and garbage. Windshield and 2 windows broken, rusted out tailgate and liftgate which I replaced. The spare tire well was filled with water, drain plugged up with broken glass....It is still mostly original...engine was seized, but after repeated soakings, broke free and miraculously started after a lot of tinkering. It has not been pulled or rebuilt..however I did clean it up, paint it yellow and put a new timing chain, water and fuel pump. Also did all the usual "roadability items" - drop the gas tank and repair, total brake job, tranny clean/adj, etc, It came with factory towing and undercoating, was originally sold in Alaska.... I drive it quite a bit now, and it seems to run better the more I use it! Built in Milpitas, Ca, Aug 57, 97k original miles."

Dave Lee writes...Here's another 58 Bermuda for your "lot", "Shorts", my 6 passenger, San Jose built on 8/4/57.

Michael Kistinger sent pictures of his 2 Edsels, both 2 door Corsairs, from Bottrop, Germany... I bought the 58 Corsair in 1995. It wasn't easy to get it running again. The main brake cylinder failed the day after I brought it home. And after the brakes were repaired and the car was repainted, an engine problem was detected and the cylinder heads had to be overhauled. These were only the major problems.

The second Edsel had problems, too. The ignition system had a mechanical problem, and the carburetor couldn't be adjusted properly. It was replaced by a Holley 2 barrel carburetor, and the engine runs like new now.

The 58 Edsel with the E475 engine is an experience I can't describe. You'll have to drive it to feel the fascination, but the 59 model is the better car for daily use. The German weather is not too good for old cars, so they are stored in garages and used only in good weather and for special events.

From California, Matt Smith sends these views of his 1958 Citation 4-door Hardtop.

Here is a photograph of OU11W702084, which belongs to Andrea 'Enthal of Agoura Hills, California. It was purchased new by her father on November 25, 1959 and has not been sold since.

From another visitor, we received this: My name is Randy and a friend of mine told me you are looking for photos of wagons. I have several photos I'm submitting for your perusal and enjoyment. The first one is a 1960 Villager 6-passenger, which also happens to be for sale. For info contact edsels@earthlink.net.

Here are two Bermuda photos. This car once belonged to me, but is now owned by Ken Bartizal.

Bobbie Reno sent in this photo of her 1958 Pacer 4 door sedan.
